Barbara has worked with some of the UK`s most renowned chefs - Anton Edlemann (The Savoy), Keith Stanley (formerly The Ritz) and, the chef she admires most, Anton Mosimann (Mosimann's, London).
She took lessons learned from these great establishments and, armed with her family recipes, created Bad Ass Cakes. Her inspiration is many hours spent happily baking with her mother using recipes handed down through generations of her family.
Barbara baked Jamaican rum cake with her mother (who in turn used to bake with her mum) as a child. As a professional baker she developed the recipe then realised people loved it so much they wanted to bake it themselves! So she put it in a box and her Jamaican Rum Cake Kit was born. She followed with Jamaican Ginger Cake and Jamaican Coconut Cake -available as cake kits from the company`s website.
